About
IOMED plays a crucial role in achieving the European Health Data Space (EHDS) goals by contributing to the realization of one of the major objectives of this legislative initiative: the enablement and mediation of health data in Europe.
The IOMED Data Space Platform is a healthcare platform created to enable Data Spaces and mediate health data for secondary use, ensuring compliance.
In this way, IOMED aligns with the EHDS objective of promoting interoperability between European health systems.
The EHDS, an initiative adopted by the European Parliament last April, is the cornerstone of a strong European Health Union. It is the first common EU data space within a specific domain, emerging from the European Data Strategy.
This project represents a paradigm shift by giving citizens firm control over their health records while facilitating their responsible use for research and public health work.
"We’re confident the vision of the EHDS can be realized. We’ve successfully built a federated network of hospitals ensuring the highest levels of privacy and security are guaranteed, always respecting GDPR regulations. This network has already supported the industry with RWD to achieve the objectives effectively outlined by the EHDS." says Rohit Mistry, CEO of IOMED.
The EHDS initiative, with input from key players such as IOMED, is set to transform healthcare delivery across Europe. The EHDS facilitates the secure and efficient exchange of healthcare data, with the aim of encouraging the secondary use of this data for research, innovation, and decision-making. This can lead to medical breakthroughs, the development of new treatments and technologies, and better evidence-based public health decisions, contributing to more efficient and sustainable healthcare systems.
